Location:  Kentucky/Tennessee Divisional Headquarters – Louisville, KY                  

About this opportunity:

 

Manages the day-to-day operations and administration of the divisional Information Technology Department at Divisional; provides technical expertise and support to the Corps throughout the division to maintain an optimal operating level of all computer systems.  Provides leadership and direction for the IT team; installs, preserves, and troubleshoots operating systems and applications; travels throughout the division to survey site locations to determine the most appropriate computer equipment and installation methods.  Troubleshoots existing system problems. Serves as a technical representative to Territorial Headquarters and outside vendors on behalf of the Corps.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Maintains purchase records and updates the division's computer equipment, hardware, and software inventory for DHQ, Corps, Area Commands, and Service Centers.

 

  • Prepares itemized cost quotes and all requisitions for computer equipment, hardware, and software for the division; reviews requisitions for cabling, network copier/printers, Internet or VoIP phone service submitted by Corps, Area Commands, and Service Centers in the division; submits requisitions for approval.

 

  • Visits the Corps of the Division as needed to install new computer systems and network hardware or to assist in the resolution of problems occurring with the corps or command network, Wi-Fi, and VPN

 

  • Assists in troubleshooting problems and identifying the source of computer hardware, software, or data communication problems; ensures that trouble tickets and solutions are logged in the Territorial Help Desk system.  Assists as needed in resolving application software problems due to inadequate documentation, improper application configuration, or improper operating system software configuration.

 

  • Supervises and manages the Information Technology staff's workload; outlines their responsibilities and ensures work schedules are completed promptly. Sets departmental goals and objectives. Conducts performance evaluations and provides hiring and termination recommendations. Develops and manages all Divisional Information Technology projects with the Territorial IT Department

What we are looking for in you:

 

An associate degree in information technology or a related field, or two years of technical college from an accredited college or university, is required.

 

Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience, including IT Management and business operations leadership experience, staff supervisory experience, and broad technical operations expertise.

 

Two (2) IT Certifications

Valid Driver’s License

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, or abilities

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

 

Ability to travel to Corps/Centers throughout the division, overnight, when necessary, to complete installation projects or troubleshoot computer problems. Work requires the ability to lift and carry, and/or push/pull moderately (than 25 - 50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.

 

Working Conditions:

Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
