GENERAL SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive Facilities Administrator to join our campus operations team on a full-time basis. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across all campus buildings, grounds, classrooms, kitchens, and common areas. This position blends hands-on custodial responsibilities with general facilities oversight and light security duties on a small school campus.

In addition to daily cleaning tasks, the Facilities Administrator will direct, facilitate and support routine  maintenance duties, work orders for ongoing maintenance and repairs as needed, manage facility supplies and equipment, coordinate campus readiness for events, and ensure consistent monitoring of building access. The position also includes limited security responsibilities, such as serving as a presence at special events and supporting the general safety and access protocols during the school day. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of working independently while serving as a visible, responsive point of contact for campus facilities needs.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Custodial Duties

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, and all common areas

  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, kitchen appliances, and surfaces

  • Empty and sanitize trash and recycling containers regularly

  • Refill restroom and cleaning dispensers; maintain inventory of supplies

  • Maintain flooring (vacuum, mop, buff, shampoo, etc.)

  • Operate and maintain power equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.)

  • Wash interior and exterior windows as needed

  • Move furniture and equipment to support cleaning and setup

Facilities Duties

  • Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, touch-up painting, simple equipment adjustments)

  • Ensure kitchen classrooms are operating effectively and efficiently at all times

  • Monitor, track, and report facility issues and repair needs

  • Coordinate with vendors or contractors for scheduled maintenance

  • Prepare and reset spaces for meetings, events, and daily operations

  • Maintain facility cleanliness during and after special events

  • Perform outdoor upkeep including snow/debris removal from walkways

Security and Access Responsibilities

  • Lock and unlock campus buildings and rooms according to schedule

  • Monitor building access and report unusual activity or unauthorized access

  • Serve as on-site security presence during special events and as needed

  • Assist with implementation of basic safety and emergency protocols

  • Must understand and demonstrate good knowledge of cleaning principles

  • Must be able to follow directions with attention to details

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard janitorial cleaning supplies and equipment. Must be able to stoop, knell, crouch and crawl, bending, stretching, pushing and pulling. Must have ability to move objects weighing up to 5o lbs occasionally. Standing 90% of the time. May have to complete some cleaning tasks in a kneeling position. Some tasks may require vigorous, repetitive movements. Must be able to grip a broom, mop, etc. Must be able to hold squirt bottles and cleaning rags. Must be able to make circular hand movements to scrub walls and windows. Must be able to tolerate loud noises such as vacuums and floor polishers. Must be able to clearly identify dirt, dust, grease, fingerprints, etc. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks to ensure consistent cleanliness across all areas of campus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Majority of work is performed in a campus environment inclusive of kitchens, classrooms, offices and outdoor conditions.

The expected hourly range for this position is between $26.00 and $30.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
