Position Summary:

The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overall operations in receiving, replenishment /put away and overall day receiving activity planning. This includes organizing, controlling receiving, quality, replenishment and operations ensuring that the receiving team has been trained to perform their jobs in the safest and most efficient manner following the Receiving Standard Operating Procedures meeting KPI goals.

What you’ll do: 

  • Oversee the smooth functionality of all receiving activities and compliance of norms as per the Receiving Standard Operating Procedures; Ensure that all incoming shipments are accurately and promptly processed
  • Responsible for managing, training, disciplining day to day receiving employee activities;
  • Verify the Driver Check in Log has been completed ;(Lumper communication)
  • Responsible to generate and adhere labels to received product for unloading trucks;
  • Coordinate between shifts receiving on the unloading order of all inbound trucks;
  • Coordinate between Sales, Purchasing, and the Receiving team on any problems with product being delivered related to receiving quality, rotation, labeling and properly slotting of product;
  • Verify received product with the invoice/BOL order and ensure all paperwork has been completed accurately before sending it to the Purchasing Department and scanned into the system
  • Coordinate on all inbound samples for sales or any other department request following receiving procedures for sample products;
  • As Receiving Supervisor, you must be able to fill in when absenteeism occurs;
  • Responsible to ensure loads are safe and secure prior to the unloading process;(Lumper communication)
  • Direct communication with the QC associate on inbound trucks; Flag questionable quality product and communicate with buyer for directions;
  • Responsible for adhering to Safety, food security & food safety regulations and policies (OSHA, HACCP, CGMPs)
  • Generate, review and provide reports in a daily, weekly, monthly and as needed
  • Other work as assigned 

  
About you: 

  •  3+ years of supervisory warehouse experience; 
  • Strong produce knowledge and conscientious food safety mentality; 
  • Hands on supervision with ability to work the warehouse floor with a focus on quality, accuracy, safety and efficiency;  
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or crises and provide resolution; 
  • Leadership and ability to motivate with an enthusiastic teamwork approach to get results through others;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and computer savvy; 
  • Must be able to drive a forklift/pallet jack and lift 50lbs; 
  • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish is a plus;  
  • Ability to effectively manage time and multi-task; 
  • Must be flexible to work after hours, weekends and holidays as business needs arise.
