Plant Support Helper

Position Summary:

Performs routine day-to-day unskilled activities and limited semiskilled manual work in general maintenance and construction

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Obtains work assignments from supervisor, contacts person requesting repairs and coordinates with supervisor type of repairs required.
• Cuts grass, weeds, and brush. Trims trees and shrubs. Cares for shrubs, flowers, and grass.
• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of sprinkler system.
• Performs minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing work.
• Performs interior and exterior painting to maintain good appearance of clinic.
• Assists in sanitation control and checks safety hazards.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
• Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job Requirements

Education Required:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience Required:

• 5+ years of experience in related field preferred.

Verbal and Written Skills Required to perform the Job:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Good oral and written communication.

Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical equipment, and carpentry. Ability to understand and follow directions accurately and on a timely basis.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

May be required to work with some power tools. May be required to work evening and or weekends. Constant walking, climbing, lifting (10-50 lbs.) and bending. Travel between location sites.

Universal Requirements:
