Program Overview
Sequel Youth and Family Services of Tuskegee, is an intensive residential treatment facility providing an array of gender specific, evidenced based and trauma informed services for male, ages 12-18, with serious and/or chronic emotional and/or behavioral management problems that interfere with the child’s ability to function in the family, school and/or community setting outside of a residential environment.
Overview: The cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals to include breakfast, lunch, and dinner for students. Under the direction of Kitchen Supervisor, the cook will prepare meals according to posted menus. Sequel Youth and Family Services adjudicated adolescents, ages 12 – 18.
Qualifications: This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Must have experience institutional cooking or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have adequate reading skills to utilize data from menus to prepare meals for residents. The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and menus as well as the ability to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, co-workers, and supervisors of the organization. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations. This position requires current certification in Blood Borne Pathogens/Infection Control and Environment of Care. Additional certification and training may be required as deemed necessary by Sequel Youth and Family Services of Tuskegee to fulfill job duties and responsibilities.
Work Schedule: 22 hours per week including 1-2 weekends per month.
