Clinical / Therapy - Therapist

Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Therapist will provide clinical
and case management service to students and their families. The Therapist
assures a high standard of documentation that meets all necessary standards
and requirements

Functions Statement(s)
|
|
- Completes Initial
Service Plan/Treatment Plan, Bi-Monthly Summaries, clinical notes,
written reports, and assessments as assigned in a timely and thorough
fashion as prescribed in program policies and expectations.
- Conducts
individual, family and group therapy sessions, using professionally
prescribed methods and techniques to enact positive change for youth
and their families.
- Is available for
Family Day and Multi-Family groups as necessary or as assigned.
- Completes
documentation requirements in accordance with program policy and
procedures.
- Interacts with
youth in a professional manner to elicit positive change.
- Takes an interest
and initiative in the development of the program's team.
- Maintains pleasant
and professional relationships with all staff members.
- Completes
individual need assessments as assigned, meeting content and time
criteria as outlined in program policies.
- Conducts group
meetings and individual sessions, using professionally prescribed
methods and techniques to enact positive change for youth.
- Initiates family
counseling using professionally prescribed methods and techniques to
convey and receive information and enact positive change.
- Completes other
reports, assessments and reviews, as assigned, in a through and timely
manner. Other duties as
assigned by the Clinical Director and Facility Administrator.
- Attends case
management transition and exit conferences to discuss related services.

May assist in
training direct care staff in the implementation of services identified in
the individualized treatment plan.

Attends
treatment team meetings as scheduled or as needed to discuss mental health
and substance abuse services.

Works with
Case Managers in developing and implementing youth performance plan goals
and objectives related to mental health and substance abuse services.
·
Regularly
assesses youth needs, strengths and performance in attaining contracted
goals and objectives.
- Supports and
follows all Sequel Policies and Procedures.

Adheres to the policy and practice concerning issues of creation, editing, transmission, storage and
disposition of all Protected Health Information (PHI) of Sequel Youth & Family Youth Services.

Education:
|
Master’s degree from an accredited
university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology,
rehabilitation, or in a related human services field
|
|
Experience:
|
Experience working with children with emotional, behavioral or
substance abuse problems preferred
|

Licenses:

Licensed
or certified clinicians are required to provide documentation and license
renewal at the appropriate intervals.
