Job Objective

The Recreation Therapy Assistant aids residents as they participate in a wide variety of therapeutic activities in group settings, on a 1:1 basis, or in the activity room. 

FTE

 Part- Time Every other weekend 9a-4p and one evening shift

Job Standards

1. Bachelor’s degree in related field (Human Services, Therapeutic Recreation, etc) preferred.
2. Knowledge of community resources as they relate to leisure/recreation opportunities for older adults.
3. Experience in assessing and responding to individual leisure/recreation needs.
4. Creativity in implementing and carrying out activities.
5. Strong written and oral communication skills.
6. Excellent organizational skills.
7. Computer skills (e-mails, memos, flyers, browsing the Web)
8. Valid driver’s license.
9. Flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours
10. Ability to safely perform essential functions of the job without harm to self or others with or without reasonable accommodation.
