PSW Site Services - Landscape Foreman
General Description
The Landscape Foreman oversees and directs landscaping operations, manages crew members, and ensures that all landscape projects are successfully completed. This role requires strong leadership, equipment supervision, and project management skills to maintain outdoor spaces and execute landscape construction projects efficiently.
Key Duties
Project Oversight & Crew Management:
- Oversee the construction of outdoor spaces and maintain existing landscapes.
- Supervise and train crew members, ensuring they follow safety guidelines and company protocols.
- Provide clear instructions and ensure adherence to landscaping designs and plans.
Equipment & Safety Supervision:
- Monitor the use of tools and landscaping equipment, ensuring proper handling and maintenance.
- Conduct inventory checks and equipment inspections to prevent malfunctions or delays.
- Ensure all crew members adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Project Execution & Administrative Tasks:
- Assess project progress and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Complete landscape design and construction projects efficiently and within budget.
- Prepare administrative documents, including work logs and compliance reports.
- Provide cost, material, equipment, and time estimates to assist in project planning.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma required (Degree in Horticulture or related field recommended).
- Relevant certification may be required, depending on project scope.
- Knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment.
- On-the-job training as a landscape crew member preferred.
- Previous experience in a leadership role is beneficial.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
Physical Demands
The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Landscape Foreman to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- Constant physical effort including standing for extended periods during an 8+ hour work shift.
- Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and lift at least 50 lbs frequently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Maintain constant alertness to multiple concurrent job site activities, including employee coordination and equipment movement.
- Frequently walk on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
- Capable of being certified to enter confined spaces, including excavations up to 20 feet in depth.
Work Environment

- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to high levels of noise, dust, grease, and dirt, typical of a construction site.
- Regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
- May involve handling common construction and landscaping substances such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, and asphalt.
