Maintenance Operator

Main Responsibilities 

• Follow all maintenance JSA’s, and SSAB’s safety policies
• Perform preventative maintenance on area equipment
• Perform basic maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment
• Perform basic plumbing and pipe fitting
• Perform structural repairs to buildings, platforms, machinery, utility piping, and structures including in elevated positions
• Install modifications to existing equipment
• Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings
• Weld/repair and fabricate from scratch
• Log data into preventive maintenance system and work order system
• Assist in the development of solutions to operating problems and improvements to the processes

About You 

• High School diploma or equivalent 
• Minimum 2 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience
• Welding experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and understand mechanical schematics
• Good computer skills

Preferred:

• Associates degree
• Mobile equipment operation (forklift & man lift)
