Auxiliary Services - Hydraulic Maintenance

Job purpose:
The ideal candidate will have industrial experience with hydraulic systems related in heavy manufacturing and will be comfortable in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. This position will work rotating shifts. The position will also be required to work with mechanical and electrical maintenance as necessary.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Day-to-day preventive maintenance of the plant’s hydraulic systems
- Troubleshooting of hydraulic & pneumatic systems including control systems
- Mechanical maintenance of pumps, cylinder and piping replacement along with related alignments
- Logging of work into a preventive maintenance system and related work order system
- Ensure that proper documentation of operations and maintenance activities occur on shift
- Interact with Maintenance, Harsco and other contractors to maintain a safe and efficient process
Qualifications: Education and Experience:
Required Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Education:
- Associates degree
Required Experience:
- Previous heavy industry experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills including but not limited to Word, Excel and timekeeping system
- Demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism and strong work ethic
- Possess attention to detail and organizational skills
- Regular and reliable attendance
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of heavy industry experience
- Heavy industry experience with hydraulic systems to include controls, valving, cylinders, etc.
- Electrical and mechanical experience
- Knowledge of Rexroth Hydraulic systems and controls
Working conditions:
The employee will frequently be required to:
- Sit, stand, walk, alternating up to 12 hours at a time
- Use both hands for grasping, handling, gripping and feeling textures and temperatures
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
The employee will occasionally be required to:
- Balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb
- Bend, twist at waist level, reach at and/or above shoulder level and below waist level
- Push, pull, lift, and/or carry items weighing less than 50 pounds
The position requires the following vision and hearing capabilities:
- Close, distance and peripheral vision
- Depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Hearing in person, on the phone, and/or in group settings
The employee will work in the following conditions:
- Extreme heat and extreme cold
- Wet and humid conditions
- Amid fumes, dust, dirt, and smoke
- In confined areas and high places and around equipment in motion
- Amid noise
- Amid mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards and industrial magnets
- While wearing personal protective / safety equipment to prevent injury from noise and environmental hazards
Position Type – Work Hours – Travel Requirements:
- Position is full time, hourly, and is eligible for overtime
- Position works rotating 12-hour shifts to include days and nights with mandatory overtime coverage as needed
- No travel is expected for this position
