Purchasing Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities and projects to close any gap between actual and expected performance; to include, identifying and driving Supply Chain projects that reduce total Supply Chain cost to the customer and the entity
• Work with the Supply Chain team to drive decisions that meet customer service level targets
• Work with customer Supply Chain, Transportation, Replenishment and Planning teams to ensure seamless execution and order management
• Participate in Supply Chain projects that reduce total Supply Chain cost to the customer
• Monitor forecast levels versus actual demand and revise supply plans as necessary
• Monitor finished goods inventory and safety stock levels to limit the exposure to obsolete inventory
• Analyze, report and resolve supply issues and capacity constraints that may affect customer service levels

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

• BS in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education & experience
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the field of supply chain logistics, forecasting and/or sales analysis, accounting, purchasing, proposal development or estimating
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and as a team member to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• Strong attention to details, analytical skills, exceptional judgment, dependable, excellent teamwork skills, good time management skills, creative, problem-solving, hardworking & persistent, professional competence, proactive

Preferred Education & Experience:

• MS in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education & experience
• 10+ years of experience in sales within industry, to include Supervisory experience
