Primary Purpose of Position

The Activities Manager assists the Activities Director in guest interactions, scheduling tours, and activities coordination, while managing guides and activities resources to facilitate all Ranch wide activities. Additionally, this role oversees training and department wide communication to the guides, guests and staff of weekly and daily Ranch Happenings in tandem with providing a fun, safe and educational environment to meet and exceed the expectations of guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Present new hire training as well as departmental training through observations of activities and feedback.
  2. Attend meetings and disseminate Ranch-wide information to guests and guides.
  3. Inspect and order to maintain par levels of guest and guide equipment for activities.
  4. Manage maintenance logs for all equipment and supplies.
  5. Provide information to build annual budgets.
  6. Work with and communicate with Ranch Ambassador Department.
  7. Address guest concerns, requests and special requirements in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  8. Oversee the Activities Guides schedule to maximize the use of Ranch activities and balance it with guest requests and within budget.
  9. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  10. Have intimate knowledge about all local and on-Ranch activities.  Promote the complete Ranch experience, including the spa, transportation, and off property activities.
  11. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and co-ordinations with other team members. Establishing new procedures to increase departmental proficiency and productivity.

Education/Experience

Required:

  • CPR Certified
  • 3 – 5 years of outdoor hunting/fishing/activities experience
  • Proven experience working in a luxury environment with high profile guests
  • Ability to clearly communicate with guests, management and coworkers to their understanding.
  • Ability to provide legible written communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Must be eligible to become a licensed outfitter/guide
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.

 

 

Preferred:

  • 3 years Supervisory experience and 1 year manager experience.

 

Skills/Physical Demand

  1. Must possess leadership and management skills
  2. Guest oriented approach with the ability to anticipate guest needs and react quickly and appropriately
  3. Must have excellent knowledge of different types of outdoor activities i.e.; Shooting (shotgun, pistol, rifle), Archery, Downhill Skiing or Snowboarding, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing, Snowmobiling)
  4. Must have knowledge of standard Montana State Outfitters/Guide laws, State/BLM/National Forest Permit/Usage laws
  5. Skill in retail sales
  6. Skill in areas of budget and financial administration.
  7. Must be physically and mentally fit to perform or guide all activities as needed.
  8. Able and experienced to respond in emergency situation.
  9. Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of guest and company information.
