Program Overview:
The Educator provides direct, specialized care and instruction to children, youth, and young adults with severe behavioral challenges and/or developmental disabilities. This role encompasses behavioral programming, therapeutic and educational support, crisis intervention, and assistance with healthcare and daily living needs. The Educator works closely with interdisciplinary teams to promote health, learning, and safety in a highly supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitating training/activities and assisting with health care needs, etc.
- Training covers a broad area, assistance in classroom programming, role-modeling, on-the-spot counseling and decision-making, transportation, crisis intervention, and such entities are self-help, communication, activities of daily living.
- Maintain minimal levels of assistance to extensive supervision to protect individuals from injuring themselves or others. Employees in this class provide quality care while implementing therapeutic, behavioral and education interventions in a safe environment for children, youth and young adults.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, education, social work, behavioral science).

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.

Proven experience developing and implementing individualized curricula for children/adolescents unable to attend traditional school settings.
