River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Care Extender

Position Overview:
IDD Care Extenders provide supportive interventions to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, promoting socialization, wellness, self-advocacy, and the development of natural supports and community living skills. Utilizing personal life experiences, Care Extenders build trust, confidence, and hope, while helping individuals recognize their strengths and address unmet needs. The hourly wage for this position is $7.25.
Location/Schedule:
750 Hazel Street, Macon, Ga – Sunday-Saturday (Part-time) 1st Shift 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm
2nd Shift 2pm-11pm or 3pm-12 Midnight

- Foster relationships and community connections.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion.
- Lived experience: Must have a diagnosis of Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD); dual diagnosis with mental health conditions is acceptable.
