Royal Credit Union is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mortgage Secondary Market Specialist to join our dynamic team in Arden Hills, MN. About the Opportunity:

As a Mortgage Secondary Market Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all loan sales are delivered timely to investors, meeting commitment deadlines. You will be responsible for updating locked or expired rates according to policy and managing various processes required by investors to ensure timely loan delivery. Your expertise will help us maintain effective communication and support within our team and with external partners.

 

Hourly Wage:  

$25.12 - $28.15 (candidates with significant related experience may be higher)

 

Work Schedule:

Working approximately 40 hours per week. Variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Training:

Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment.

  • Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging. 
  • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal’s culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loan Delivery: Ensure all closed loans are delivered to investors before the loan commitment expiration date.
  • Documentation: Prepare Assignment of Mortgage, collect and deliver original Notes, and submit loans through the investor’s portal.
  • Rate Management: Evaluate and manage existing interest rate locks and extension requests, and monitor expired rate locks, providing feedback to the management team.
  • Mortgage Team Support: Assist the Mortgage team with pricing exceptions, product changes, re-pricing, and lock resets.
  • Process Management: Manage the Uniform Closing Disclosure (UCD) upload and other investor-required processes.
  • Error Resolution: Research and resolve investor selling errors encountered during loan delivery.
  • Market Analysis: Provide competition pricing analysis for all Royal Credit Union markets on a weekly basis.
  • Data Clean-Up: Assist with Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data clean-up as needed.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare and submit all mortgage loan audit requests by designated deadlines.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a mortgage-related field
  • Knowledge of secondary market selling guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of financial services and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under multiple deadlines and high-volume conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be bondable.
