Sr. IT Systems Engineer - Networking
Purpose
The Sr. IT Systems Engineer - Networking role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining networking solutions, including firewalls, wireless systems, cloud networking, and SD-WAN. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Palo Alto, Aruba and Cato Networks. This role requires expertise in global IT infrastructure management, network security, automation, and networking.

- General Policy
- Network Infrastructure Design & Implementation:
- Design and implement networking solutions for branch offices, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain firewalls (Palo Alto), routers, and switches (Aruba).
- Manage Palo Alto Panorama for enterprise-wide firewall policies.
- Optimize routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRF Lite, TCP/IP v4 & v6).

- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and manage forward proxy SSL, VPNs, and network access control.
- Maintain compliance with SOX, ITIL, and industry security standards.
- Firewall rule management.

- Network Performance & Monitoring:
- Utilize LogicMonitor, Nagios and Wireshark for network analytics and troubleshooting.

- IT Operations & Project Management:
- Implement IT projects such as migrating onboarding new companies to the group.
- Manage multi-site VPNs and datacenter interconnectivity.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, network diagrams, and runbooks.
- Train and support Level 1/2 engineers and service desk teams.

- Incident & Change Management:
- Handle service requests and incidents using ServiceNow.
- Ensure high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) planning for network infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator or equivalent is a plus.
- Certifications:
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) is a plus.
- ITIL Foundation Certification is a plus.
- Experience
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and networking roles.
- Experience in global network administration across multiple regions (Europe, US, Latin America, Africa).
- Strong background in enterprise security, cloud networking, and automation.

- Deep knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRF Lite, TCP/IP v4 & v6).
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, routing, and security policies using Palo Alto and Aruba.
- Expertise in cloud networking and security (AWS, VPNs, SD-WAN).
- Experience with IT security frameworks (PCI-DSS, ITIL).
- Proficiency in scripting & automation.
- Strong analytical skills with network monitoring tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage a team of IT experts.
