Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Oxford, Connecticut

Department: Manufacturing

 Wage Range:  $19.32 - $25.04/hr.                                       Supervisory Position:  No

PTA Corporation, a plastic injection molder and tool builder, is an “entrepreneurial” manufacturer whose customers are leaders in the medical device, defense, homeland security and technology industries including Fortune 500 OEMs. Business has started to grow dramatically. And we are currently looking for an experienced Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join our team.

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to support daily logistics operations. This role ensures accurate receipt, inspection, storage, and shipment of goods and materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Responds accurately, timely and professionally to internal customer inquiries regarding transit times and shipment information. 
  • Prepare all shipping and receiving documents timely and accurately.
  • Accurately completes all shipping and receiving Syteline transactions.       
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weight, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, box label, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Review daily order backlogs: identifies problem areas.  Gives immediate and professional feedback to internal customers on order shortages, changes, delays, or other important issues.
  • Process orders for outside services.
  • Participate in yearly physical inventory.
  • Recommend improvements of workflow to Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Has a full working knowledge of the following SyteLine modules: Shipping, Receiving and related Customer modules.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • Expected to exhibit and demonstrate safe behaviors at all times and to perform job in a safe manner.
  • Ensure that last minute shipping requests & samples are shipped on the day that they are requested, if possible.
  • Reliable transportation that includes warehouse to warehouse commute.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience in warehouse environment.
  • Fundamental understanding of logistics.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office with focus on Microsoft Excel and Word, Infor Syteline experience a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP/MRP Software Systems.
  • UPS/FedEx Software
  • Forklift Certification will be required as part of employment, including Electric Pallet Jack.
  • Able to pass CT DOT non-CDL certification.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including noise, heat, cold, and exposure to chemicals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection when on the manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments and withstand exposure to noise levels associated with manufacturing machinery.
  • Ability to receive, comprehend and utilize required training from OSHA and Company including but not limited to the following: Hazard Communication, Lock Out/Tag Out, First Aid and CPR (optional).
