PTA Corporation, a plastic injection molder and tool builder, is an “entrepreneurial” manufacturer whose customers are leaders in the medical device, defense, homeland security and technology industries including Fortune 500 OEMs. Business has started to grow dramatically. And we are currently looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing HR Generalist will support HR functions within our manufacturing facilities, focusing on employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. This role serves as a crucial link between employees and management, ensuring a positive workplace environment and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism along with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills on all levels within the organization. Must be comfortable working autonomously with issues that are potentially sensitive and complex, where solutions need to be equitable and consistent with good employer/employee relations.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
- Manage job postings, candidate screening, and interview process.
- Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate smooth onboarding experiences.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Mediate employee relations issues and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
Performance Management:
- Support the performance appraisal process, providing guidance to managers on evaluation methods and employee development plans.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for employee skill enhancement.
Compliance and Policy Management:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulations.
- Assist in the development, communication and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs and payroll processes.
- Assist in conducting market research to ensure competitive compensation structures.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Maintain HR records and generate reports on key HR metrics, such as turnover rates, training participation, and employee satisfaction.
- Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements to HR processes.
Payroll Backup Responsibilities:
- Serve as a backup for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in employee pay, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Review and validate timesheets, ensuring proper approvals and compliance with wage and hour laws.
- Assist in payroll audits, reporting, and reconciliation processes as needed.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and coordinate with the payroll provider or finance team as necessary.
- Ensure payroll records are maintained in accordance with legal and company requirements.
Health & Safety:
- Collaborate with the safety team to ensure adherence to workplace safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among employees.
- Participate in safety training and initiatives as required.

- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 2-4 years of experience in HR roles, with a proven track record in recruitment, employee relations, and HR compliance.
- Remain up to date on current regulations in labor relations, labor laws and benefits administration through the use of seminars, CEU’s, etc.
- SHRM-CP a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including noise, heat, cold, and exposure to chemicals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection when on the manufacturing floor.
- Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments and withstand exposure to noise levels associated with manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to receive, comprehend and utilize required training from OSHA and Company including but not limited to the following: Hazard Communication, Lock Out/Tag Out, First Aid and CPR (optional).
