Summary
This is a role within Prosperity Life’s Actuarial Modeling team. In this role, you will work in a fast paced, high growth environment and be involved in all aspects of the model development life cycle. The role requires strong technical modeling skills to deliver high quality models that maximize business outcomes. You will also be involved in strategic projects such as modernizing the Actuarial Architecture while helping improve our overall end-to-end modeling process. The successful individual is a self-motivated problem solver, intellectually curious, with the ability to drive model/tool building and storytelling, and thrives in a fast paced, high growth environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively maintain and enhance actuarial models and processing tools for STAT (Cash Flow Testing and PBR) reporting, Embedded Value, Business Planning, and GAAP (LDTI)
- Streamline and automate legacy model input/output processes
- Develop and implement modeling standards, best practices, procedures, and documentation
- Support strategic ad-hoc projects such as in-force management, actuarial due diligence, regulatory field testing, model validation, as needed
- Execute on future state modeling platform strategy and model conversions
Job Qualifications
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries with at least 5 years of actuarial experience with modeling and/or valuation
- MG-ALFA experience is a plus or ability to quickly develop expertise based on experience with similar asset-liability cash flow modeling platform. Familiarity with asset modeling is a plus
- Experience with US Statutory accounting (incl. PBR) and US GAAP accounting (incl. LDTI) across life and annuity product lines is a plus
- Excellent business partnering and communication skills
- Ability to dive into technical and execution level details, connect the dots while thinking strategically
- Enthusiastic about developing and improving tools and processes, with a focus on automation and user-friendliness
- A proactive mindset with proven ability to manage projects independently and effectively
- Technical proficiency in SQL and R/Python is strongly preferred
