HB Purchasing Storeroom Attendant

 

Primary Responsibilities:   Stock and issue all storeroom merchandise and beverages.  Assist in inventory and reports any shortages or spoilage to the manager.  Ensure that all products are properly stored, labeled, dated and rotated.  Clean and maintain work areas and equipment.  Basic computer skills and knowledge of storekeeping program; input information on items received and issued.

 

 

 

 

Essential Duties:

 

    1. Retrieve deliveries from loading dock in a timely manner.

 

    1. Ensure items are properly stored, labeled, dated and rotated according to procedures.

 

    1. Fill requisitions and deliver items to specified outlets, insuring products are correct and not spoiled or damaged.

 

    1. Report any outages, shortages, discrepancies or spoilage to manager.

 

    1. Report any mechanical breakdown or projected failures to manager in a timely fashion.

 

    1. Keep storeroom including freezer and refrigerators organized, clean and tidy.

 

    1. May input information on items received and issued into the storekeeping program.

 

    1. Secure storeroom, freezers and refrigerators at the end of the day.

 

    1. Complete daily assignments in a timely manner.

 

    1. Assist with inventories as assigned.

 

    1. Properly discard cardboard boxes or other items designated for recycling.

 

    1. Perform duties and operate equipment following safety procedures and policies.

 

    1. Inform Chefs of any discrepancies or product that needs to be sued on daily basis.

 

    1. Perform other related duties as assigned or required

 

 

 

Other Duties:

 

    1. May assist receiving clerk

 

    1. Discard trash

 

    1. Pick-up supplies or merchandise

 

    1. Clean floors, walls, drains, gaskets and doors as needed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                                                                       

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

 

 

 

Working Conditions: 

 

    • Indoors in a temperature controlled storeroom

 

    • Must be able to work in refrigerator and freezers for extended periods with proper protective equipment.

 

    • Loading dock noise or fumes from vehicles.

 

    • Walking through hotel corridors

       

      Work Hours:

 

    • Must be able to work shift and days determined by manager

 

    • Must be able to work over 40 hours in a week, if needed.

       

      Equipment Use:

 

    • Basic knowledge of computer and related storekeeping software.

 

    • Ability to use the telephone

 

    • Hand truck, flat bed cart, pallet jack, forklift, trash compactor and cardboard bailer.

 

    • Vehicle or cart

       

      Mental and Physical Demands:

 

    • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deliveries are timely.

 

    • Able to stand and walk during most of shift.

 

    • Able to lift/carry and push/pull up to and more than 50 lbs of merchandise and supplies.

 

    • Bend, stoop, reach to retrieve or store merchandise, check items, inventory.

       

      Communication Demands:

 

    • Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally to employees, manager and vendors.

 

    • Ability to communicate over the phone.

       

      Minimum Qualification Requirements:

 

    • Must be able to read and write English to complete requisitions and identify products.

 

    • Must be able to count to complete requisitions and perform inventory.

 

    • Department of Health TB clearance.

 

    • Forklift training and certificate needed to operate forklift.

 

  • Driver’s license when operating company vehicle.
