HVAC Technician
Summary
The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, cleaning, adjusting and repairing the store’s HVAC systems. This position is responsible for air quality systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance, warranty and emergency repairs.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to
- Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; at least one (1) year of experience as an HVAC technician or continued education in HVAC field; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
- Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, with or without short notice.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.

Working Conditions
Work is conducted in an environment which may include, but is not limited to, varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provide if needed and for designated areas and job tasks. Adherence to safety guidelines and protocols is mandatory. Employees are expected to report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
