Sales Associate (Health & Beauty Section)
Summary
The Health & Beauty Sales Associate plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales within the health & beauty section. This position is responsible for understanding product offerings, assisting customers in making informed purchasing decision, and contributing to the overall success and positive image of our establishment.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to
- Greets customers, responding to questions, improving engagement with merchandise and providing outstanding customer service.
- Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
- Stocking, restocking shelves, ensure prices are correct for each product and maintaining a clean and properly displayed feature area specifically endcaps and signage/POPs.
- Other duties as instructed or assigned.

Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; previous experience in a retail environment preferred; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A valid driver’s license, health certificate able to obtain a certification is required for this position.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Sales Associates require a combination of hard and soft skills to perform their duties effectively. Some of the hard skills include product knowledge, basic math skills, and inventory management. Soft skills include but are not limited to empathy, communication, persuasion and problem-solving.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, staff, and management.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to manage inventory, schedules, and multiple tasks simultaneously.
Analytical Skills: Capacity to analyze sales data, trends, and performance metrics to make informed decisions.
Customer Service: Dedication to providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues effectively ensuring “Customers matters most.”
Technical Skills: Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS systems, and basic computer skills.
Physical Demands of the Job
- Standing and Walking: The job often requires prolonged periods of standing and walking around the sales floor, assisting customers, supervising staff, and inspecting merchandise displays.
- Lifting and Carrying: Handling merchandise, restocking shelves, and assisting with inventory management might involve lifting and carrying boxes or items of various weights, typically up to 25-50 pounds.
- Bending and Reaching: Tasks like rearranging merchandise displays, stocking shelves, or retrieving items for customers may require frequent bending, reaching, and stretching.
- Work Environment: The work environment can be fast-paced and dynamic, involving exposure to moderate noise levels, interaction with customers and staff, and occasional stress due to managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Visual and Mental Demands: The role involves constant attention to detail, often requiring the ability to read small print, assess merchandise quality, analyze sales data, and make strategic decisions. Mental agility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently are essential.
- Schedule Flexibility: This role might require flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of the retail schedule, potentially leading to irregular or extended work hours.
