Marketing Coordinator
Summary
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Sales & Marketing Department Manager in executing a wide range of marketing initiatives aimed at increasing foot traffic, enhancing brand visibility, and boosting sales through both traditional and digital channels. This role involves coordinating promotional campaigns, managing in-store marketing materials, collaborating with creative teams, analyzing customer and sales data, and executing targeted email and tourism marketing efforts. The Marketing Coordinator also plays a key role in supporting mall-wide marketing events, member loyalty programs, and administrative reporting duties, ensuring smooth interdepartmental communication and timely execution of all marketing activities. This position requires open mindedness, adaptability and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to
- Developing Marketing Strategies:
- Assist Sales & Marketing Department Manager and implement marketing promotional campaigns that drive more foot traffic, increase sales, and enhance the brand’s presence in the local market using traditional marketing.
- Assist Sales & Marketing Department Manager and develop strategies for seasonal promotions along with product mix, and special mallmarketing events, including those targeting tourists.
- Assist Sales & Marketing Department Manager and be able to analyze sales impact assessment of promotional/seasonal activities.
- Assist Sales & Marketing Department Manager with planning and overseeing the annual promotion calendar to excecute with other respective departmetns.
- Point-of-Purchase (POP) Materials and Floor Decorations:
- Collaborate and elaborate with POP writers and Merchandising teams to enhance and improve POP displays, signage, and other promotional materials for in-store use.
- Collaboration with Creative and Multimedia Marketing Section:
- Work closely with the Creative and Multimedia Marketing Section to translate marketing strategy plans into compelling visuals and digital executions.
- Ensure branding, messaging, and campaign objectives are effectively communicated and aligned with creative outputs.
- Discuss necessary guidelines, briefs, and insights with the creative team for the development of marketing assets.
- Coordinate the execution of digital marketing campaigns, ensuring content is delivered on time and aligns with overall marketing goals.
- Stay updated on the latest digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices to enhance marketing executions.
- Email Marketing Planning:
- Assist Sales & Marketing Department Manager with planning and strategize analytical data into promotion to attarct and engage our existing customers, working with the Creative and Multimedia Marketing Section.
- Utilize email marketing to retarget customers who have not shopped at store.
- Inbound Tourism Marketing:
- Assist Sales & Marketing Department Manager with creating and executing tourism marketing strategies to attract visitors from key markets (Korea and Japan mainly)
- Collaborate with local tourism boards, travel agencies, and hospitality partners like hotels to promote the brand to tourists with our exclusive souvenirs.
- Donki Members and CRM Analysis:
- Analyze data on Donki members’ shopping habits, preferences, and behaviors to develop targeted promotions.
- Use membership analytics to enhance loyalty and drive personalized marketing strategies.
- Optimize customer retention and loyalty through data-driven initiatives.
- Sales and Customer Analysis:
- Conduct regular sales analysis to monitor product performance, track promotional effectiveness, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Analyze customer demographics, purchasing trends, and feedback to tailor marketing strategies for targeted audiences.
- Collaborate with Product Strategy Division for future promotions to have sales uplifts.
- Mall-side Marketing Initiatives:
- Assist Sales & Marketing Department Manager and develop and manage marketing initiatives in collaboration with Mall Department and tenant leasing section to enhance the overall mall shopping experience.
- Coordinate joint promotions, mall events, and advertising with mall tenants to drive more foot traffic and increase mall visibility.
- Collaboration with Sales, Merchandising, and Other Departments:
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing Department Manager, Store Department Manager, Store Operations Department Manager, Product Strategy Department Manager, and merchandising sections to align marketing strategies with business goals.
- Collaborate with the front-end customer service and information center teams to ensure smooth execution of promotional campaigns and initiatives.
- Admin Duty and Reporting:
- Be able to handle and take care of one’s admin work himself/herself.
- Execute a range of administrative duties to support the marketing department. This can include, but is not limited to, handling internal and external communications, managing schedules, coordinating marketing campaigns, organizing meetings and events, and maintaining marketing reports and materials to ensure effective execution.
- Regularly update the Sales and Marketing Department Manager on the progress of all assigned projects, ensuring timely communication of key developments, challenges, and milestones.
- Provide detailed reports, presentations, and status updates on sales and marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and relay critical information to management.
- Alert the manager to any potential issues, risks, or delays that may impact project timelines or marketing strategies.
- Maintain clear and professional documentation of all communications, approvals, and project outcomes for future reference.
- Respond promptly to any requests for information, data, or insights related to ongoing sales and marketing activities.
- Assist in preparing performance reports, analytics, and market research summaries to support strategic decision-making.

Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business preferred; Previous supervisory and/or management experience preferred; At least three (3) years of working experience in a related field, preferably in a supermarket environment; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A valid driver’s license or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Open mindedness.
- Retail Marketing skills is preferred.
- Strong knowledge and experience in using Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing preferred.
- Experience in planning, executing campaigns and promotions for consumers preferred.
- Experience in retail marketing, digital marketing and/or loyalty program management preferred.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Strong attention to detail and great organization skills.
- Have strong analytical skills to produce outcome and process-related reports and derive valuable insights and analysis that can be actionable.
- Creative, resourceful and up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices of marketing.
