Youth Music & Movement Instructor - Part Time

The Music & Movement Instructor is responsible for designing and implementing lessons that combine music, rhythm, and physical activity for children ages 6 months and up. Music & Movement Instructor should lead by example in areas such as punctuality, responsibility, motivation, and professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering enjoyable, structured and well-planned music and physical activities and lessons.
- Use instruments, recorded music, and props to support learning activity.
- Encourage participation, creativity, and physical activity in a fun and safe environment.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with special needs.
- Monitor and assess participant and adjust instruction as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, regarding progress and participation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming space.
- Set-up studio and return space to neat state upon completion of class.
- Accurately complete all administrative duties relating to Music & Movement classes (i.e. timesheets, student evaluations/placements, recital forms, etc.)
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Report injuries and complete required forms.
- Immediately notify a Supervisor of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of studio space.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence communicating with EMS.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in teaching music, dance, movement, or related fields (early childhood experience is a plus).
- Displays exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service.
- Displays excellent problem solving skills and initiative.
- Must possess patience, a positive attitude, and ability to work well with others.
- Willing to work flexible hours.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
