Cloud Network and Data Engineer

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise network infrastructure, identity management systems, and cloud services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Active Directory, Entra ID, AWS (EC2, S3, Glue), and Networking. Strong data engineering skills with SQL and Power BI are important as this position will work closely with IT, Systems, Marketing, Operations, and Business Intelligence teams.

What is needed for this job:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience in information technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, and Entra ID.
- Strong hands on Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Glue, Spark) required.
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell and Python)
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.)
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills with all level of personnel.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with staff and vendors
- Willingness to work as part of a team and to learn new skills in a dynamic environment.
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Primary responsibility for design, accuracy, availability, and maintenance of Active Directory and Entra Identity
- Provides support and manages DNS for internal and external web hosts
- Deploys, backs up, and recovers Cloud servers. Leads Disaster Recovery testing.
- Works with approved vendors and IT staff for 24 hour support.
- Coordinates all expenses with IT Director to minimize expenditures and operate within budgetary restrictions.
- Coordinates license and support agreements with IT Director to ensure that YMCA uses only trusted software, is fully licensed and maintains subscription coverage, follows budget and renewal options, and has adequate vendor support.
- Participates in change team to control risk associated with system changes.
- Documents issue resolution notes into Service Desk Cases according to SLA and creates knowledge articles to document correct procedures for IT team to follow.
- Participates with Network Admin to report system availability and RTO metrics for all production systems.
- Tests and deploys operating system, approved software, and software patches to servers and clients.
- Participates in setting policy and procedure for Cloud and Premise servers and essential IT operations.
- Participates in setting network, desktop, and server requirements and software standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Network Engineering & Operations
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure using Cisco Meraki.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi.
- Implement network security best practices including segmentation, firewall rules, and VPNs.
Identity & Access Management
- Manage and maintain Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD) environments.
- Implement and enforce identity governance, conditional access policies, and MFA.
- Integrate identity services with cloud applications ensuring active certificates, keys, and
Cloud Infrastructure (AWS and Azure) and Analytics
- Administer and optimize AWS EC2 instances and S3 storage solutions.
- Develop and maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with Digital Services, Marketing, IT Systems (Salesforce) and other stakeholders to Develop data transformation and aggregation logic. Conducts unit testing to ensure business analytic solutions meet specifications.
- Manage ETL in order to improve data accuracy, validity, and timeliness for the consumption by Marketing Cloud, BI, and AI models.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and cost-effective
Collaboration & Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects and cloud migrations.
- Provide Tier 3 support for network and identity-related incidents.
- Document systems, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Participate in managing information security and privacy risk through data categorization, de-identification, and access controls in collaboration with Operations, IT, Business Intelligence, and managed security operations teams.
