Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager, Quality Data and Systems with the potential for millions of dollars in direct impact to the Ontrac business. You will be instrumental in building the backbone of our operational quality, creating precise metrics and reporting for our 100 field locations. This role is a true builder's paradise: you will lead the operations organization through changing data sources and business intelligence tools while creating new metrics and embarking on meaningful analyses.
Your success will be measured by significantly improving the trustworthiness and quality of all operational reporting, automating away tedious manual work for our analysts, and ushering our entire Operations organization into an AI/ML future. You will empower your team to deliver high-value, insightful analysis that drives problem-solving and identifies new areas for value creation. Responsibilities:
· Metric & Reporting Standardization: Standardize and build comprehensive metrics and reporting for the operations organization, primarily focused on improving operational quality (e.g., mis-sorts, delivered-not-received, on-time delivery, root cause analysis of quality failures, bottleneck reporting, and customer satisfaction.)
· Data Trustworthiness & Quality: Own the trustworthiness and quality of all reporting utilized by the operations team.
· Automation & New Reporting Structures: Lead initiatives to automate manual reporting tasks and develop new, efficient reporting structures, empowering analysts to focus on value-added activities.
· Analytical Value Creation: Guide the team in creating new reports and analyses to identify areas for improvement, problem-solve operational challenges, and uncover opportunities for value creation.
· Data Science Roadmap Management: Manage your team's roadmap and represent the operations organization to the data science and data engineering team. Own prioritization and speed to market with visibility and clarity.
· Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent communication regarding backlog, timelines, and deliverables for all data and reporting projects.
· AI Future Advocacy: Design and drive the roadmap for integrating AI tools into reporting and analysis processes, automating analyses, and enhancing information aggregation.
· Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts (two to start), fostering their growth and ensuring their ability to deliver high-quality, impactful work.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Process Quality team, Operations Field Operations team, Engineering Design, Network Design, and the Data Science team, which sits in the tech organization.

· Project Management: Ability to manage their team's workload without support, and to influence the priorities of their stakeholders; through a thoughtful ticketing & roadmap system, while handling small requests with ease.
· Experience in measuring quality: Has Experience in using engineering or analysis tools, including PFMEA, lean manufacturing and control charts, but is not confined by their rigidity.
· Stakeholder Collaboration: Builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively with internal teams across operations, quality, and technology to achieve data and system objectives.
· Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Possesses strong analytical skills to identify root causes of issues, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative solutions using data.
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field. · 5-7 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field, with a focus on creating robust reporting in BI systems.
· Must have experience leading direct reports.
· Proficient in SQL & DBT with hands-on experience working with complex data tables and structures; Python is a plus.
· Experience using AI, including tooling creation & LLM for coding assistance
· Proven experience creating easy-to-understand reporting for stakeholders using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
· Extremely proficient in Excel.
· Relevant industry experience in high-volume logistics, manufacturing, or e-commerce (depending on company size and data complexity).
· This position is fully remote with some travel required.
· Strong Plus: Relevant certifications in data analysis, business intelligence, or data warehousing.
