Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Manager to join the supply chain team at Oil Dri Corporation of America. This role is critical in driving efficient inventory management practices, ensuring stock levels are accurate, and implementing robust inventory control systems to support our operational goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures to minimize losses, damage, or obsolescence.
  • Analyze inventory flow and turnover rates to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee physical inventory audits and coordinate cycle counts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Utilize data analytics to track inventory performance metrics and present actionable insights to senior management.
  • Mentor and train team members on best practices for inventory management and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, internal and external audit requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, Accounting Standards, etc..).
  • Collaborate with operations, procurement, warehousing, and finance teams to optimize inventory processes.
  • Participate in new product launches and end-of-life inventory strategies.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for all processes related to the movement of inventory.
  • Support all areas in troubleshooting system issues related to the movement of inventory and other non-routine work as necessary. 

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business/accounting, industrial engineering or related field (required).
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management or supply chain operations, preferably in a managerial role.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven track record of implementing inventory control systems and processes that drive accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Oracle JDE).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills as well as detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
