Job Overview:
We are looking for an initiative-taking and well-spoken Sales Representative to support our rapidly expanding businesses. The Inside Sales Representative will have account ownership and provide support to both the Fluids Purification and the Crop and Horticulture sales teams. This individual will oversee outbound lead generation campaigns, qualify incoming leads from new or current clients for further account development, and ensure a smooth transition, if necessary, to the proper regional sales manager.
In this position, the Inside Sales Representative will interact with industry leaders across a variety of markets to help clients solve unique issues. The representative will address diverse industries which produce vegetable oils, renewable fuels, and aviation fuels as well as crop and horticultural businesses producing a variety of crop protection, nutrition, and processing products.
This role, while helping ensure both internal and external goals are met, will adhere to Oil-Dri company values and the culture of teamwork, and report to the General Managers while interacting with Oil-Dri Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with internal Oil-Dri teammates and the commercial team to fulfill client needs and expectations.
- Owns and manages a customer base of less than full truck load customers.
- Gains product and application knowledge to efficiently address challenges and create solutions, both internally and externally.
- Works with the internal marketing team to explore, qualify, and develop leads to confirm interest and determine need for further engagement.
- Works with the internal Finance team to process new customer account setup and monitor AR status.
- Provides customer support where needed, collaborating with the commercial team on new developments to create sales opportunities.
- Connects proactively with current clients on a regular basis via phone calls and emails, ensuring their supply pipeline remains fulfilled and uninterrupted.
- Researches customer purchase and usage data to inform sales, planning and forecasting.
- Responds to product sample requests and initiates the fulfillment process.
- Serves as initial contact on any outreach campaigns, including customer satisfaction surveys, interviews, or prospecting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or technical field preferred.
- Initiative-taking and well-organized individuals, having both a curious, learning mindset and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written fluency.
- Ability to travel for training and corporate events as needed.
- JD Edwards (JDE) enterprise system experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a related, time-sensitive B2B industrial sales position preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent phone and cold calling skills.
- Ability to quickly set up client rapport and working relationships.
- Exceptional customer focus and customer service skills.
Hybrid role based out of the Chicago office. Monday - Wednesday onsite required.
