Your mission in the Dart team:
The Engineering & Quality Manager is responsible for leading engineering and quality assurance activities at our Loves Park facility. This role will manage day-to-day operations related to mechanical design, manufacturing engineering support, and internal quality systems. The position plays a critical role in ensuring product reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with internal standards. The manager will oversee execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), development of quality procedures, and serve as the primary onsite liaison for cross-functional teams supporting dartboard manufacturing.
Your day-to-day:

Lead and develop a cross-functional team that includes Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control personnel.

Drive accountability for project execution, quality initiatives, and on-time delivery of engineering support to production.

Implement, manage, and improve internal quality systems, supporting readiness for regulatory certifications and audits.

Oversee Engineering Change Order (ECO) process and ensure integration of changes into manufacturing without disruption.

Coordinate and monitor PPAPs and First Article Inspections (FAIs).

Act as the point of contact for onsite issue escalation and resolution.

Maintain clear documentation and ensure alignment with Arena Empower (PDM) and internal controls.

Support lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your profile:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.

Minimum 7–10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or technical management role.

Experience in electromechanical assembly and low-to-medium volume production environments.
Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of engineering design processes, manufacturing operations, and quality systems.

Hands-on experience with ECOs, PPAP, FAIs, and DFM/DFA practices.

Working knowledge of QMS development and continuous improvement methodologies.

Proficiency with SolidWorks and PDM systems (preferably Arena Empower).

Effective communicator and collaborator across departments and locations.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to work on-site in a production environment with reliable transportation to the facility in the Rockford area, specifically Loves Park. IL

Occasional travel to Schaumburg, Montreal, and supplier sites as needed.
