Job Reporting Relationships

 

            Supervised by:            Director of Financial Accounting

Basic Qualifications

 

Education/Training:  A B.S. or B.A. degree in Accounting or Finance required; specialized bank finance education and training; obtain and maintain appropriate Bank Product Knowledge Certification.

 

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; demonstrated proficiency in analyzing and interpreting financial statements, e.g., balance sheets, income statements, etc.; proficient PC skills; a working knowledge of bank functions relating to the accounting function; knowledge of current bank regulations impacting the accounting function; visual and auditory skills; valid driver’s license.

 

Experience:  A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years' experience in related positions normally required.

 

 

General Responsibilities

 

Responsible for performing administrative duties to support the accounting, financial reporting, and control functions; achieving goals as established in the Accounting Department's annual operating plan; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the accounting function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

 

Essential Duties

 

  1. Performs administrative duties to support the accounting, financial reporting, and control functions of which the following are illustrative:

 

  1. Utilizes accounting systems, e.g., fixed assets and separate subsidiaries.

 

  1. Prepares reconcilements for DD accounts and general ledger accounts.

 

  1. Assists with preparation of quarterly/annual SEC filings such as the 10-Q and 10-K.

 

  1. Assists in the accounting and financial reporting function of the bank.

 

  1. Develops special financial reports and monitors preparation and review.

 

  1. Prepares adjusting and correcting entries as needed.

 

  1. Maintains records for the pledging of collateral for all public depositors.

 

  1. Performs month-end close process including completion of financial statements.

 

  1. Assists with Bank’s budgetary process as assigned; monitors the purchasing of fixed assets against purchase controls and the annual budget for capital expenditures.

 

  1. Assists with external Accountants as requested.

 

  1. Provides back up to the Staff Accountant I duties

 

  1. Provides input and analysis to other Bank departments as requested.

 

  1. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

 

  1. Achieves goals assigned to the Sr. Staff Accountant as part of the Accounting Department's annual operating plan.

 

  1. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.

 

  1. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.

 

  1. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

 

  1. Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

 

  1. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

 

  1. Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.

Full Time Employment Benefits: Fulltime hourly-paid employees will be provided 12-days of Paid Time Off (PTO), that is accrued 1-day for each month worked.  After the completion of 90-days of employment accrued PTO can be used for any purpose including being paid for absences or vacation time. At the end of the first year of employment, any unused PTO will be converted to the employee’s sick time accrual.  Sick time will begin accruing effective on the employees first year anniversary up to 120 days.  At that point, PTO is no longer available; and any paid absence will be eligible under the sick, vacation, personal and family sick pay policy. After one year of service the employee is eligible for their annual vacation benefit.

Salaried-paid employees are not eligible for PTO and accrue paid sick days at 1-day per month; and any vacation time that has been approved for the 1st year of employment.

12 paid holidays, 2 Personal days, 2 Family Sick days, 2 Volunteer Days after completion of 90 days of employment.  Eligible for Health Care, Dental and Vision (single and family) the first of the month following 30 days of full-time employment. 401(k) eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment with employer match available. Company Wellness Program. Company Stock program available after 1 year of employment. Annual Performance Reviews completed, and salary increase amount given based on individual performance.

 

 

This position is an hourly position eligible for overtime.

 

Hourly Range

Minimum $17.02

Maximum: $37.45
