Position: Cherry Day Shift Line 1 – Box Making

Department: Cherry Packing – Dallesport, WA

Location: 111 S Parallel Ave, Dallesport, WA 98617

Direct Supervisor: Cherry Productions Supervisor / Line Leads

Schedule: Monday – Sunday; 7:00 am – 5:30pm

Compensation: Training Wage - $16.91/hr; Base Wage - $17.20/hr

Other Compensation: Bonus for Attendance

Position Status: Temporary/Seasonal

Position Summary:

As a Box Making worker you will work in our Cherry facility located in Dallesport, WA. The Cherry season lasts on average 8 weeks. Day shift will start packing at 7am and packing will continue until 5:30pm. Box Making workers’ may work up to 10 hours per shift, especially during the peak of the packing season. As a Box Making worker you will be responsible for the box making process in the Cherry Packing position. Temperatures can be moderate to hot in this indoor work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate machinery to produce cardboard boxes of various sizes.
• Monitor the quality of the boxes to ensure they meet company standards.
• Make adjustments to machinery as necessary to maintain quality standards.
• Conduct regular maintenance on machinery to ensure it is functioning properly.
• Communicate any equipment malfunctions or quality issues to the supervisor.
• Stack or place finished boxes in a neat and organized manner for use in the packing process.
• May be required to change positions as needed in the packing facility.
• Adhere to good manufacturing practices, personal and work area hygiene & food safety standards and requirements.
• Work diligently and cautiously to ensure proper handling and packing of the products and maintain production rate.
• Work as a team with coworkers and follow routine rotations as directed.
• Follow all Plant Safety requirements and adhere to the Company Handbook.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work inside a packing facility
• Temperatures can be moderate to hot in this indoor work environment
• Worker must be able to withstand high temperatures though out entire shift with regular breaks
• Stand on feet for long periods of time (Up to three hours at a time)
• Use of one or both hands to complete tasks
• Must have good hand dexterity
• Visual acuity and reading of labels

Experience/Education:

• Production or packing experience preferred
• Box making labor experience preferred
• HS Diploma/GED preferred
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
