The upscale boutique hotel is looking for an Exeutive Chef to bring the culinary experience for our guests to new heights.

The Executive Chef will manage the operation of the kitchen including food preparation, cleanliness, physical maintenance, and inventory functions to ensure hotel quality standards are met and food and supply costs are controlled.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains and provides career development for kitchen staff; conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to employees.

 

  • Schedules all employees in kitchen department to maintain adequate staffing levels while adhering to labor standards.

 

  • Supervises the cleaning of the kitchen and all kitchen equipment including all dishes, flatware and related equipment to meet all health and sanitation standards.

 

  • Must be able to produce multiple events for same meal period, including events up to 350 people

 

  • Supervises all cooking operations including methods, portion control and garnishing; ensures attractive presentation of all food and dishes.

 

  • Ensures that all kitchen equipment is in proper working order; notifies and follows up with the maintenance department regarding any malfunctioning equipment.

 

  • Conducts regular inventory of food and kitchen supplies; orders items as necessary to maintain adequate inventory levels.

 

  • Assists sales, catering and banquet staffs with banquets, parties and other special events.

 

Maintains excellent relationships with maintenance team to ensure all kitchen equipment is in good repair, banquet staff, external vendors and the health department.

 

Education/Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent and seven years experience in kitchen operations including three years in a management role.

 

Certification:  Valid health/food handler card.
