Part-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm 

Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Material Control Clerk with a primary focus on packaging to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and labeling outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and the safe delivery of products. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and package items for shipment according to company standards and customer specifications.
  • Verify the contents of shipments to ensure accuracy against packing slips, invoices, or orders.
  • Label packages appropriately and complete all necessary shipping documentation.
  • Use packing materials and equipment to securely protect items during transit.
  • Maintain clean and organized packaging and shipping areas.
  • Coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.) for pickups and track outbound shipments.
  • Communicate with customer service and warehouse teams to resolve any shipment discrepancies or special packaging requirements.
  • Perform regular quality checks on packaging materials and report any issues or shortages.
  • Prepare and ship product according to instructions, including maintaining accurate counts of outgoing product, preparing shipping documentation, ensuring proper identification of products and containers, loading trucks, making arrangements for appropriate carriers and determining freight rates.
  • Properly complete shipping manifests, including hazardous waste shipments, as applicable. 
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Maintain compliance with hazardous waste shipping regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management principles, including experience processing inventory transactions.
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and possess a sense of urgency.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Experience using an ERP system.
  • Experience selecting and scheduling transportation services.
  • Basic framing carpentry skills.

Compensation and Benefits Overview

Starting Pay Range for this position is $18-$22/hour

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with applicable county or city regulations if they exceed the listed range. Actual pay rates are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, local labor market conditions, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language proficiency, and other job-specific qualifications.
