The Impact You Will Make

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner is a key member of our HR team, responsible for managing a wide range of human resources functions. This role involves partnering with the site leadership teams to drive HR initiatives and deliver exceptional employee support. The Senior HR Generalist plays a critical role in developing and implementing policies and programs that enhance workforce engagement, performance, and development while maintaining strong relations with Kindeva on-site colleagues and ensuring a fair and compliant work environment.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Weekends and nights as needed). 

Responsibilities

  • Updates/creates job descriptions as needed, ensuring FLSA compliance.
  • Assist with the new hire onboarding processes, including onboarding new hires (welcome emails, org announcements, preparing onboarding documents, conducting new hire orientation).
  • Responsible for creating physical & digital personnel files for new hires.
  • Assist with benefits administration and leave administration in partnership with the Benefits and Total Rewards teams.
  • Facilitate termination processes, including but not limited to, termination checklists and applicable task completion, and works with HRC to process employee changes in HRIS
  • Assist members of management and all other colleagues with questions regarding compensation in partnership with the payroll team.
  • Supports management and colleagues with performance management, employee relations, and performs investigations, as appropriate. Report findings to the Director of Human Resources with recommendations.
  • Perform investigations, as appropriate. Report findings and recommendations to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Create desk procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP) for respective HR-related tasks/duties on the shared drive.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, assist managers with HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering colleague requests and questions; specifically responsible for answering any questions related to policy interpretation, leave of absence, employee relations, and benefits within 24 business hours.
  • Leads and/or develops human resource efforts of site’s recognition programs, employee development, lunch and learns, and new hire orientation.
  • Occasionally responds to irritated, emotional, or upset individuals in an appropriate professional manner
  • Constantly read or listen, comprehend, and follow instructions presented through spoken or written form.
  • Frequent engagement with others on a regular basis requiring excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Organize and prioritize information and processes to meet frequent demands/deadlines.
  • Frequent use of independent judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information and sensitive situations.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, manages the annual performance management and merit increase process for assigned client groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in HR, including expertise in, employee relations, training, and policy development.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations (specifically in California, is helpful)
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and California state laws & leave laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA).
  • Excellent written and oral communication, with great listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and execute multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain focus, confidentiality, and collaborate proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite, Dayforce, and Kronos
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • High emotional intelligence, flexibility, and a strong sense of urgency are key to success in this role.
