The Impact You Will Make

Performs a variety of routine warehouse functions in typical GMP warehouse. Responsibilities include but are not limited to material handling, shipping, receiving, kitting, staging, replenishment, waste disposal and/or recycling prep, excess/expired disposal and/or recycling prep, cycle counting, transportation between sites using a box truck.

Performs normal warehousing functions (receiving, handling, storing, issuing, and delivering customer orders, operating narrow aisle swing-lift, forklifts and other material handling equipment and preparing inbounds, outbounds from the distribution center to all Kindeva St. Louis warehouses.

Assume leadership responsibilities assigned by the supervisor and serves as a SME (subject matter expert) within the department and contributes to team problem solving efforts.

Works with other departments to drive resolution to shortages/issues i.e. supply chain, QCD, MQA, and other facilities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Operation of swing reach lift for narrow aisle picking that consist of but not limited to, fall protection systems with retractable tethers, and advanced visibility features to minimize risks during operation in narrow warehouse aisles.
  • Perform production picking and staging at main warehouse site; generate/review all manual and system generated transfer orders to fulfill production demands to downstream sites.
  • Perform responsibilities of routine sample transfer across downstream sites.
  • Performs all department operations proficiently and has comprehensive knowledge of job duties to act as SME for training purposes.
  • Responsible for material handling support to meet customer needs within assigned building.
  • Coordinates material movement on loading docks to coincide with production, supply chain, and plant engineering schedules.
  • Maintains inventories of shipping, receiving, and material handling supplies necessary for the conduct of daily routines.
  • Performs routine, well defined transactions in ERP warehouse management systems and quality management systems both on a computer and a handheld scanner device as well as more complex work that may require judgment, interpretation and problem solving.
  • Always uses safe working methods/procedures to avoid personal injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company property.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, understand, and communicate verbally in English.
  • Operates Power Industrial Vehicle
  • Handling or generating hazardous waste
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • General mastery of all Receiving operations, procedures, material tracking systems, and documentation.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and correct any transaction, tracking system, inventory, and/or documentation discrepancies.
  • Interface with UPS and FedEx to receive goods including controlled substances.
  • Frequently interfaces with buyers, suppliers, and customers to schedule receipt, and/or delivery, of raw materials, equipment, hazardous shipments, etc.
  • Interfaces with Quality engineers for disposition of documented freight claim damages.
  • Schedule appointments for receipt of raw material, equipment, etc.

 Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of prior warehouse operator experience and/or training (in a GMP or other regulated manufacturing or distribution work environment preferred).
  • Demonstrated related job experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, transportation, picking, kitting, staging and cycle counting.
  • Prior forklift certification and demonstrated ability to safely operate either standup or sit-down style lift. The ability to become forklift certified within first 30 days of employment.
  • Must have a Class A, B or C (CDL) with air brakes and HAZMAT certification with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening and job fitness physical.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain controlled substance clearance once employed.
