Analytical Scientist required to support multiple R&D activities in Union City. This is a key role within an expanding team of formulation and product development scientists and offers the successful candidate an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of new inhalation products and future technologies by applying their creative technical skills and using their scientific experience. We develop drugs including proteins peptides, other biologic compounds as well as small molecules.

 

This position is approximately 70% lab work (HPLC),15% planning, 15% protocols and reports.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Use physical and chemical characterization techniques to determine properties of pharmaceutical active ingredients, excipients and formulations.
  • Concentration determination assay of drug compounds using HPLC equipment.
  • Conduct in-vitro data analysis and interpretation of data (preferably inhalation product testing) -  via relevant statistical software packages (Excel, Minitab etc).
  • Hands-on working in a laboratory environment, using state of the art manufacturing and testing equipment.
  • You will be trained on aerosol characterization techniques using drug delivery devices.
  • Author technical protocols, reports, and present the technical data to all levels within the organization.
  • Follow established compliance and EHS working practices within the organization.

  • The ability to think outside the box and is passionate about technical creativity and problem solving.
  • Inquisitive mindset and able to identify novel ways of working and realize them.
  • Demonstrated hands on practical laboratory skills gained in a testing laboratory environment.
  • Usingmicropipettes,microbalances,andvolumetricglassware.
  • Has knowledge and practical experience of relevant statistical software packages (Excel, Minitab etc).
  • Excellentcommunicationskills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Demonstrated experience working in cross functional multidisciplinary teams.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry or in a pharmaceutical related discipline.
  •  1+ years' experience in an analytical chemistry lab.
