Instructor / Trainer II

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, is seeking an experienced Instructor/Trainer II to provide advanced-level training on Microsoft Office products, collaboration tools, COTS software, and Automated Information Systems (AIS). The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in adult education and demonstrate expertise in USPTO automation/software systems. This role combines technical expertise with advanced instructional capabilities to deliver high-quality training programs.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- The Instructor/Trainer II will be responsible for delivering comprehensive software training and supporting the development of training materials.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct advanced training sessions on Microsoft Office products, collaboration tools, and COTS software
- Deliver specialized training on internal Automated Information Systems (AIS)
- Develop and customize training materials for various software applications
- Manage training environment setup and equipment functionality
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of training equipment and software
- Evaluate and test new software products from a user perspective
- Provide expert input for training requirements and material development
- Ensure quality and availability of all training materials
- Mentor junior trainers and share best practices
- Maintain expertise in USPTO automation systems and software updates
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in adult learning training
- Demonstrated expertise in USPTO automation/software systems
- Proven track record of successful software training delivery
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and collaboration tools
- Expert knowledge of USPTO automation systems
- Superior classroom management and presentation skills
- Excellence in verbal and written communication
- Advanced technical troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles
- Ability to develop and customize training materials
- Experience with both in-person and virtual training delivery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- Master's degree in related field
- Advanced certifications in relevant software applications
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert certification
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Knowledge of instructional design principles
- Experience in government training environments
- Expertise in virtual training platforms
- Project management experience
- Change management skills
- Experience with training needs assessment
- Knowledge of 508 compliance requirements
- Curriculum development experience
- Experience with performance evaluation and assessment
- Familiarity with emerging training technologies
- Experience in creating technical documentation
