Koniag IT Systems, LLC is seeking a skilled eLearning Instructional Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective learning solutions that align with organizational goals and modern educational best practices. This role combines creativity, technical knowledge, and adult learning principles to create engaging and effective training materials for various software systems and processes.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • The Instructional Designer will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive training programs and materials. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serves as course developer, team player, and change agent for the utilization and growth of the LMS and supports the use of current and leading‐edge best practices in course development and delivery
  • Develops, edits, and/or acquires graphic, photo, and video assets for content.
  • Understands and creates scripts/storyboards for planning new learning content.
  • Design and develop training approaches, teaching outlines, assessments, and evaluation methodologies
  • Maintain and update course materials to reflect current software versions and industry best practices
  • Partner with stakeholders to establish business goals, objectives, and project timelines
  • Conduct needs assessments and research to identify knowledge gaps and learning requirements
  • Create comprehensive learning strategies that align with business objectives
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop accurate and relevant content
  • Design and implement learning paths for effective content delivery
  • Develop and administer learning assessments, surveys, and focus groups
  • Analyze feedback and metrics to continuously improve training effectiveness
  • Work collaboratively within the training and development team to establish best practices
  • Support team development and maintain strong internal communications

Education and Experience:
Required:

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field
  •   Minimum 6 years of experience in instructional design or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in adult learning and training development
  • Expertise in software systems documentation and training

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of instructional design theories and adult learning principles
  • Proficiency in instructional design tools and technologies
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into user-friendly training materials
  • Experience in developing various training formats (e-learning, classroom, blended)
  • Proficiency in assessment and evaluation methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with multimedia content development

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Certifications in instructional design or e-learning development
  • Experience with government or federal training programs
  • Knowledge of Section 508 compliance requirements
  • Expertise in rapid development tools (Articulate, Captivate, etc.)
  • Experience with video production and editing
  • Knowledge of SCORM and xAPI standards
  • Background in technical writing
  • Experience with virtual training delivery platforms
  • Familiarity with graphic design principles
  • Knowledge of performance support tools and methodologies
