Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking A&A Mid-Level Trainer to support KDS and our government customer in Alexandria, VA. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This is a Remote Opportunity.

Koniag Data Solutions (KDS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Mid-Level Trainer specializing in Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for our federal government clients. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge of security compliance with strong instructional abilities to effectively communicate A&A concepts and procedures. 

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • The A&A Mid-Level Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs focused on security compliance and authorization processes. Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop comprehensive cybersecurity and privacy training materials.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions to various audiences (technical and non-technical).
  • Create awareness campaigns on security best practices and emerging threats.
  • Design and implement security simulation exercises (e.g., phishing simulations).
  • Assess training effectiveness and adapt programs accordingly.
  • Stay current with evolving cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Creativity in developing engaging training content.
  • Develop and maintain A&A training materials and curricula
  • Deliver training on RMF, FISMA, and security compliance processes
  • Create practical exercises for security control assessment training
  • Support the development of training documentation and guides
  • Conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions
  • Assist in developing training metrics and assessments
  • Maintain training records and track participant progress
  • Update training content to reflect current requirements and procedures
  • Provide post-training support and guidance
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy of content
  • Support the development of role-based training programs
  • Assist in creating training videos and e-learning content
  • Participate in training program evaluation and improvement
  • Support continuous learning initiatives

Education and Experience:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security
  • 2+ years of experience in training or educational role
  • Current Security+ certification, and/or relevant experience/certifications
  • Experience with RMF and FISMA processes

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Strong knowledge of security compliance processes
  • Understanding of NIST frameworks and standards
  • Experience with learning management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience creating training materials
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of security control assessment processes
  • Experience with virtual training platforms
  • Ability to adapt training methods to audience needs
  • Ability to obtain public trust clearance

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Additional security certifications (CISSP, CAP)
  • Experience with federal government systems
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles
  • Familiarity with e-learning development tools
  • Experience with training needs assessment
  • Knowledge of CMMC framework
  • Experience with hands-on security tools
  • Understanding of DevSecOps concepts
  • Knowledge of cloud security compliance
  • Experience with training program evaluation
  • Familiarity with accessibility requirements
  • Experience with gamification techniques
  • Knowledge of privacy requirements
  • Prior experience in federal training environments
  • Certification in training or adult education
