Koniag Data Solutions (KDS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Data Scientist/Analyst specializing in AI/Automation to support our Security Control Assessment (SCA) initiatives. This role combines data science expertise with cybersecurity knowledge to develop and implement innovative solutions for security assessment automation. The successful candidate will help transform traditional security assessment processes through data analytics and machine learning. 

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Data Scientist/Analyst will:

  • Develop and implement machine learning models for security control assessment automation
  • Create predictive analytics solutions for security risk assessment
  • Design and maintain data pipelines for security assessment data
  • Analyze security assessment data to identify patterns and trends
  • Develop automated reporting solutions using AI/ML technologies
  • Create visualization tools for security assessment metrics
  • Build statistical models to evaluate security control effectiveness
  • Implement natural language processing for security documentation analysis
  • Develop algorithms for automated evidence collection and validation
  • Create and maintain dashboards for security assessment analytics
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to optimize assessment processes
  • Design and implement data collection methodologies
  • Provide data-driven insights for security decision-making
  • Support the development of automated assessment tools

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics
  • 3+ years of experience with AI/ML implementation
  • Experience with cybersecurity concepts and frameworks
  • Background in security assessment processes preferred

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Understanding of NIST security controls and frameworks
  • Experience with SQL and database management
  • Proficiency in data cleaning and preparation
  • Knowledge of natural language processing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with big data technologies
  • Excellent documentation abilities
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in collaborative environments

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Security+ or similar cybersecurity certification
  • Experience with federal security requirements
  • Knowledge of RMF and FISMA
  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
  • Background in security compliance
  • Experience with API development
  • Knowledge of deep learning techniques
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies
  • Experience with automated reporting systems
  • Understanding of privacy requirements
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Experience with version control systems
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment
