Koniag Professional Services (KPS) currently has an opening for an Acquisition Subject Matter Expert for the Department of Defense Office of the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer’s (CDAO) Acquisition and Assurance Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Government with navigating the ever-changing landscape of Defense-relevant non-traditional and traditional acquisition strategies and serving as a technical POC, on behalf of the Government, for Acquisition stakeholders.

The Acquisition Subject Matter Expert/Advisor will play a pivotal role in driving the acquisition agenda of the organization. This position will provide strategic leadership, technical expertise, and guidance on all aspects of the DoD acquisition lifecycle. The primary responsibility will be to ensure alignment between acquisition strategies and business objectives, driving the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance organizational efficiency, agility, and competitiveness. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the CDAO’s growth and innovation strategies through the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic acquisitions under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), and non-FAR (Other Transactions, Commercial Solutions Opening, etc.) authorities. This role involves providing technical subject matter expertise to lead end-to-end contracting processes, from market research and due diligence to post-award lessons learned. The candidate will work closely with Agreements Officers, Acquisition Leaders, and cross-functional teams to ensure that acquisitions align with CDAO objectives and contribute significantly to the organization's overall success.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists the Government with the development, refinement, implementation, and of the organization's acquisition strategy within the digital and AI landscape, aligning it with business goals and objectives.
  • Leads and coordinates due diligence efforts, prepares commercial and non-commercial acquisition strategies, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as working closely with various Agencies to align strategies. The primary supported officials are CDAO Executive Leaders and the Acquisition and Assurance Office Leadership Team.
  • Identifies emerging technologies and trends relevant to the organization's industry and devises acquisition strategies for their adoption.

Requirements: 

  • Secret Clearance with eligibility to be upgraded to TS/SCI clearance.
