Koniag Data Solutions (KDS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist/Analyst (AI/Automation) to lead the development and implementation of AI and machine learning solutions for our cyber defense operations. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in data science and artificial intelligence with strong cybersecurity knowledge to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • The Senior Data Scientist/Analyst will lead the development of AI-driven solutions for cyber defense operations. Key responsibilities include:
  • Design and implement machine learning models for threat detection
  • Develop AI-powered security analytics solutions
  • Create predictive models for threat identification
  • Lead the development of automated response capabilities
  • Design and maintain security data pipelines
  • Develop anomaly detection algorithms
  • Create and maintain security analytics dashboards
  • Implement AI-based threat hunting solutions
  • Develop security metrics and reporting frameworks
  • Lead research initiatives in AI security applications
  • Guide junior analysts in data science methodologies
  • Collaborate with security teams on AI integration
  • Evaluate and implement new AI/ML technologies
  • Develop automation solutions for security operations
  • Create and maintain documentation for AI systems

Education and Experience:
Required:

  • Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in data science/analytics
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity
  • Strong background in machine learning and AI
  • Experience with security analytics platforms
  • Current security certification (Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Expert knowledge of machine learning algorithms
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks
  • Expertise in data visualization tools
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Experience with big data technologies
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles
  • Knowledge of threat detection methodologies
  • Proficiency in security data analysis
  • Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellence in technical communication
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Additional security certifications
  • Experience with classified systems
  • Knowledge of quantum computing
  • Expertise in natural language processing
  • Experience with reinforcement learning
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology
  • Published research in cybersecurity/AI
