Facility Engineer

Koniag Data Solutions (KDS) is seeking an experienced Facility Engineer to maintain and optimize critical infrastructure supporting our federal government clients' operations. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and will be responsible for ensuring facility operations meet the highest standards of reliability and security.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility systems
- Monitor and operate building automation systems
- Maintain critical power systems including UPS and emergency generators
- Oversee HVAC operations and maintenance
- Conduct facility inspections and safety checks
- Respond to emergency situations and equipment failures
- Manage facility modification projects
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors
- Maintain compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities and maintain facility records
- Support physical security systems maintenance
- Implement energy efficiency improvements
- Participate in facility emergency response planning
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in facility operations and maintenance
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Current Journeyman Certification in relevant trade
- Experience in mission-critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of building systems and operations
- Experience with electrical systems and power distribution
- Proficiency in HVAC operations and maintenance
- Understanding of building automation systems
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and controls
- Experience with emergency power systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with facility safety protocols
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience with facility management software
- Emergency response capabilities
Education:
- High School Diploma
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with data center operations
- Knowledge of plumbing systems
- Experience with fire suppression systems
- Familiarity with access control systems
- Project management experience
- Energy management system expertise
- Experience with critical environment operations
- Knowledge of federal facility requirements
- OSHA safety certification
- Experience with classified facility operations
- Previous military or government facility experience
- Knowledge of sustainable facility practices
- Experience with facility security requirements
- Familiarity with government facility standards
