Summary/Purpose

The Learning & Org. Development Representative will be responsible for planning, coordinating, administering, and facilitating training and organizational development functions.

This position reports directly to the Organizational Development and Training Manager but will also work closely with corporate HR, and JNA HR/Training personnel and leadership teams at all levels. The Learning & Org. Development Specialist also interacts with third-party vendors on a regular basis.

 

Essential Duties and Accountabilities for Training:

   Administer LMS to support all JTEKT North American facilities.

   Develop and oversee the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids, manuals, workbooks, and facilitator guides.

   Research and develop training material and methods to provide the knowledge to promote continuous improvement.

   Plan, organize, and implement a range of training activities.

   Develop, organize, deliver, and evaluate training programs and learning modules.

   Gathers and analyzes information to determine training needs within JTEKT NA.

   Meet with managers, HR representatives, and training personnel to ascertain training needs.

   Support the HR team with special projects and duties as requested and/or assigned

 

Essential Duties and Accountabilities for Organizational Development:

  • Analyze business structures, procedures, processes, and the utilization of resources.
  • Lead business optimization initiatives by conducting focused individual or group training sessions as requested.
  • Optimize associate utilization by increasing cross-functionality and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Assist in maintaining a Performance Management System and the Performance Management Process
  • Assist all levels of leadership with recommending efficient and cost-effective solutions for identified challenges
  • Increase organizational velocity by designing, delivering, and coaching leadership competencies.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

   This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•  Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize, and manage several tasks simultaneously

•   Possess proficient computer skills –Word, Excel, Access, Power Point

•   Knowledge and experience in administering a LMS.

•   Knowledge of instructional design, experiential learning, training methods, tools, and techniques

•   Must be able to present material in a formal classroom and virtual setting

•   Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and public speaking skills

•   Ability to work with all levels of the organization

•   Strong team player and able to collaborate effectively with others

•   Effective project management skills

•   Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

•   Ability to facilitate and manage change

•   Ability to uphold strict confidentiality of HR information

•   Ability to demonstrate initiative, drive, and be self-directed

 

Education and Experience:

   Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with emphasis in Organizational Development, Human Resource Management, Training, or three years’ experience creating and facilitating training. 

   Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

   Previous experience with administering LMSs preferred

•Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health and safety hazards.

•The performance of this position may involve exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and slip resistant shoes.

•Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.

•Communicate (hearing and speech) with individuals in person and by phone.

• Travel by automobile and plane will be required 30% of the time. Overnight stays may be required.

•The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch.

•The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

•Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
