Sr Support Specialist - Hardware
ExtraMile Convenience Stores LLC is a joint venture owned by Chevron U.S.A. Inc. and Jacksons Food Stores, Inc. It is one of the largest franchisors of convenience stores in the western United States. The ExtraMile Store Network is comprised of more than 1,100 convenience stores in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi. The Sr. Support Specialist (Hardware) serves as a technical expert, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex IT issues. This individual supports end-users, both internally and externally, and plays a key role in escalating and resolving high-priority issues. They also assist in mentoring junior staff and contribute to improving support processes and documentation. The Sr. Support Specialist assists with management duties as needed and is responsible for hardware and asset management.
This position will be in-person in Pleasanton, CA.
Some of what you’ll do as a Sr Support Specialist (Hardware):
- Provide advanced-level technical support and troubleshooting for complex IT issues.
- Act as an escalation point for junior support specialists and assist in problem resolution.
- Document and improve support processes to enhance team efficiency.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system issues and provide feedback on improvement areas.
- Oversee hardware and asset management needs
- Other duties as assigned.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- A Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Business, or Computer Science preferred.
- 3+ years in a support/helpdesk role required.
- A history of leveraging others appropriately and overcoming unexpected obstacles while utilizing appropriate metrics to measure progress.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate and weigh alternatives and select appropriate course of action, driving activity to measurable results.
- The ability to adapt to changing situations, tasks, responsibilities, and people to achieve results.
- A track record of anticipating customer needs and giving high priority to customer satisfaction service.
Physical Environment: Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
