Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant is responsible for recording transactions and preparing the work papers and documents needed to support the presentation of financial statements. The goal of this position is to ensure that the company’s financial reports are prepared in an accurate and timely manner.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to company’s policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations.
• Reconciles the general ledger monthly and annually for properties.
• Prepares and reviews monthly and year-end financial statements for properties.
• Prepares work papers and documents for tax purposes.
• Assists in analysis variances with property accountants regarding investors’ quarterly and annual reports.
• Assists with administrative functions related to the maintenance of accounting records.
• Provides support to auditors as needed by supplying information and documentation.
• Assists in the preparation of year-end financial reports, including footnotes.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education: This position requires a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
Experience: This position requires 0 to 1 year of prior professional accounting or financial reporting experience, preferably in a real estate environment.
Skills:
• Keyboarding skills are required for this position.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook are required for this position.
• Intermediate skills in Yardi (or comparable general ledger software program) are required for this position.
• Ten Key skills are required for this position.

Annual Base Salary Range: $73,360-$80,000. This position is eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus program.
