SUMMARY:  

Become a member of the M&A and Investment Banking team of an opportunistic real estate-oriented investment firm. Responsible for supporting senior bankers and firm principals in executing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings and other corporate finance activities. Evaluate progress of existing investments and analyze feasibility of potential new investments.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Assist in the preparation of valuation and other financial models/analyses.
  • Create and maintain marketing and valuation materials, pitch books and other deliverables.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential transactions, including financial, legal and operational aspects.
  • Work closely with senior team members in deal sourcing, negotiation and execution of transactions.
  • Conduct industry research and competitive benchmarking, and analyze market trends to support the strategic direction of M&A transactions.
  • Monitor and track the performance of portfolio companies, sometimes working closely with management teams to help drive growth and operational improvements.
  • Support the exit process by preparing divestiture strategies and coordinating with advisors.
  • Monitor and source relevant industry news and trends to share and educate the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance or private equity
  • Strong competencies in Excel and the overall financial valuation and modeling processes
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (including PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
  • Elevated attention to detail and consistency in work product
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated aptitude to function and thrive in a time sensitive environment and under pressure with tight deadlines

 

 

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000
