HealthRIGHT 360 offers residential treatment services designed to serve individuals and families with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Residential programs run 24/7 and Individual and group therapy, family therapy, individualized case management, treatment planning, drug and alcohol counseling, Medication support services, and crisis intervention.

HealthRIGHT 360, a family of programs, is located across 13 different counties in California. HealthRIGHT 360 provides an array of medical and behavioral health services to some of the most marginalized populations, ranging from primary care, mental health services, detox, substance use disorder treatment in both residential and outpatient settings, and transitional services for the criminal justice population.
At Martin Luther King Jr. Behavioral Health Center (MLK BHC), we provide residential substance use disorder treatment, case management services including linkages, referrals, and community reintegration, and recovery support services to adults healing from addiction and people who are referred to treatment as part of criminal justice deferment. This program is contracted with Department of Public Health’s Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) program for up to 33 men who are judicially involved, 33 men, and 33 women to provide continuum of services for low income or Medi-Cal population.
The Client Safety Navigator (CSN) fosters a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. CSN works with program leadership, Sherriff’s or local law enforcement, and other teams to respond to emergency and crisis situations, including client drug use, overdose, programmatic interruptions, and other situations.
SCHEDULE: THURSDAY - MONDAY 11PM-7AM (start time may vary an hour or two)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure and maintain a safe and orderly environment for clients, staff, and visitors in compliance with the agency and industry standards and safety regulations by monitoring security cameras, attending building security meetings, working collaboratively with service providers and administrative staff, by clearing areas of crowds, debris, and out-of-place items, and by performing other tasks necessary to remain compliance.
- Maintain client and visitor log.
- Welcome and assist clients when returning from appointments, ensure clients sign in, and check belongings for contraband.
- Welcome visitors, check visitors’ credentials, ensure that they sign in, and escort them to the supervisor on duty.
- Always carry Narcan, recognize signs of overdose, and use Narcan to reverse drug overdose as necessary.
- Direct and deflect traffic, de-escalate tense, high pressure, and emotionally charged situations.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, non-confrontational behavior even during time of observation and de-escalation.
- Make regular rounds to monitor entrances, exits, offices, common areas, and build perimeters.
- Work with local law enforcement as needed.
- File incident reports as needed.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and adhere to the organization’s code of conduct.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other funding requirements.
- Attend and participate in meetings.
- Participate and complete all training assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Certification, or Licensure
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Higher education preferred.
- Possess a valid First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Experience
- Two years of job-related experience working with the criminal justice population or with the community behavioral health system preferred.
Competencies
- Trained in crisis de-escalation tactics.
- Trained in recognizing signs of overdose and the use of overdose reversal medication.
- Knowledge of Los Angeles community behavioral health and public health systems.
- Ability to establish rapport, build trust, and maintain professional boundaries with clients.
- Familiarity with various supportive counseling strategies and wellness and recovery principles in working with clients with mental health, substance abuse, or co-occurring conditions preferred.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to effectively interact and build relationships with clients, local law enforcement, healthcare professionals, community organizations, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to interface well with diverse, disadvantaged populations with multiple barriers to educational and vocational success, including low literacy, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, history of incarceration, and impaired cognitive functioning.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Bilingual preferred.
