Job Summary

 

Exemplifies team expectations for operational requirements in a manufacturing and distribution environment. A lead is a primary resource in meeting operational goals in productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and training for the department. Serves as a back up to manufacturing supervisor and is a high-level inventory support. This role ranges from $20-22 an hour based on experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday 6am-2:30pm at 8990 South Kyrene Road, Tempe AZ. 

 

Essential Job Functions *

  • Assist on daily operations of the Shipping, Receiving. Tags, Keys, Packaging and product put aways for timely and accurate product distribution.
  • Coordinate and manage inventory, maintaining stock levels and addressing discrepancies.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and third-party logistics providers including machine pickups, freight claims and address transportation-related issues.
  • Implement strategies to improve distribution efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Prepare and analyze detailed operational reports for daily stand-up meetings.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for operational updates and issue resolution
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular feedback to team members
  • Train new hires and existing staff on procedures and standards
  • Document and report on team progress, highlighting achievements and barriers
  • Collaborate with leadership to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Train team members, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
  • Serves as back up for area manager/supervisor

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ten plus years manufacturing/distribution/assembly experience is typical and preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail required.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work from verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team to meet production goals.
  • Demonstrates leadership through strength in core competencies.

Operational Equipment

  • Operates basic material handling equipment up to and including forklift.
  • May be required to use order picker, pallet jack and/or various hand-tools.

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment

Packaging - Material Handler: Self-paced, 8 hr shifts. May be exposed to fumes, loud noises, and extreme temperatures infrequently. Functional near, far and peripheral vision and functional hearing required.

Physical Demands

Packaging - Hand: Light, lifting up to 50 lbs.
