Quality Technician - 1st Shift

Job Summary:
The position provides a proactive approach to finished product testing by systematically evaluating finished product and packaging, and communicating results in a timely manner in order to identify potential product safety risks and quality variations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform quality line checks on the product and packaging as required, typically every half hour. These checks include, but are not limited to the following: product moisture check, water activity, pH, weight, diameter, stack height, color, packaging seals, and verifying codes.
- Enter data on line sheets
- Calibrate and clean lab equipment
- Collect retain and customer samples of the product
- Perform metal detector checks
- Monitor and calibrate checkweighers.
- Place out of spec product and materials on HOLD
- Perform glass and brittle plastic assessments
- Perform UV bulb check and water testing
- Weigh, bag and label ingredient
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Must be knowledgeable in GMP’s and the HACCP program
- Basic math skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize task
- Ability to multi task
- Must display great attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to stand up to 90% of the time scheduled
- Must have the ability to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age

Starting Pay: $20.40/hr., a shift differential is offered for 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment.
